A modern revival of the 18th century tradition of debutante balls, Le Bal was conceptualized by Ophélie Renouard in 1992. Each year the most exceptional young prodigies from across the world are handpicked to attend the highly exclusive event in Paris, France. Hailed as “One of the top 10 social events in the world” by Forbes, Le Bal des Débutantes brings together a glittering assembly of debutantes descending from royalty, silver screen legends, leading industrialists, international politicians, philanthropists and beyond.

The purpose of Le Bal stretches beyond the original intentions of its historical predecessors to raise money for charities that support young women—namely, Enfants d’Asie and the Seleni Institute. The annual spectacle witnesses the debs in the finest of haute couture creations. Couture is a leap of imagination, a labour of love enlivened by superlative dressmaking skills and artisanal surface design techniques.

Lecoanet Hemant has been closely associated with Le Bal, a relationship that started with dressing Angélique de Ravinel in 1992. The house has since then dressed the likes of Amrita de Bois-Juzan, Laxmi Dalamal, Shaiyra Devi of Kapurthala, Ananya Raje Scindia and Shanaya Kapoor to name a few. The next edition of the ball will see the Princess of Patiala, Inayat Inder Kaur make her grand debut in custom Lecoanet Hemant couture.
